Recursive Dream

the first thing that i noticed when looking at this painting was the smoke coming out of the record player, then as i started to look at everything i noticed the girl and then i came to realize that the room shes in doesn’t have roof and the background is the sky in the evening and the birds flying around are doves and doves usually symbolize a death also the posture of the girl in the painting is like she trying to understand what shes seeing its like shes maybe glancing around to be able to fully take in whats around her and then you look at the ground and see her shadow and you see that shes has wings so maybe shes died and is becoming an angel because the doves are flying all around her and there isn’t a roof so she can easily just fly out. there are also records just sitting on the floor so maybe those were in her hands and then something called her to look outside.i think shes being called by something as well because everywhere there a door the light is shining on it but everywhere that’s not its darkened.she also has something in her hand but you cant really tell what it is also everything that has light is either white or golden.

The Bluest Eye (Afterward)

‘beauty is something you do not what you behold’

by Morrison saying this I think she means that being beautiful is kind of like a job in a sense its become something that everyone wants to do or be even in the book the girls just wanted to be beautiful but that also translates to modern day life right now everyone wants to be seen as beautiful growing up you’re told the quote beauty is in the eye of the beholder but everyone still tries to fight to be told that their beautiful from other people its become something people will crave instead of them thinking to themselves that their beautiful they need someone else to tell them. in the book pecola only thought she was beautiful when she had the ”blue ” eyes but even after that she still needed reassurance that her eyes were the brightest blue and the prettiest blue and she would compare her so called blue eyes to other people in the town that actually had blue eyes but she wouldn’t believe unless mr.soaphead would say that he believed her eyes were the nicest of all the girls she was comparing herself to. overall i don’t think beauty was ever something you beheld because from the beginning certain people were put as the ultimate beautiful person and everyone wanted to look like that person because they needed the satisfaction of everyone around them.

The Bluest Eye (Cholly section)

in this section of the bluest eye you get the back story of cholly breedlove from the start to the present day. when he was 4 days old his other tried to kill him and the his aunt took him in afterwards so i think when he got older and then he realized what his mom did to him that probably took a toll on him mentally as he grew older i think his aunt taking him in created a special bond because he could’ve died and not been able to live and then once she died i think that was a sad but new beginning for him because then he decided to find his father the experience he got from trying to rekindle a relationship with his father didn’t help with his mental state either because once you sit back a realize neither of his parents wanted him and that took a toll on him even if it wasn’t expressed ~~~~~~~~ cant think of anything

Pages 97~131

After reading this section the most significant this is how Frieda thought she was ruined and after that statement everything ended u being ruined like when they went to see the Maginot line and they told her that they couldn’t go inside her house because she was ruined that probably ruined her mood because of that and so she threw the bottle and that ruined the bottle and then Frieda and Claudia went to Mrs. breed loves job to see pecola and while they were there the cobbler that was on the counter got knocked over and ruined. also this section talked about how after they moved up north their relationship was starting to ruin because she didn’t have anything to do she was in the house all the time she didn’t really fit in so she didn’t have many friends so shed stay in the house waiting for her husband to return and that became so frequent that they didn’t have anything to talk about he started to avoid her and spend his free time out with friends and shed just stay at home by herself.

The Black Museum Black mirror

In the episode black museum from the tv show black mirror it’s about a doctor undergoing a procedure that gives in an implant that gives him the symptoms of other humans and it starts off really well and then he gets a patient that dies and he dies with them but he doesn’t actually die he comes back to life and then the implant gets messed up and then he craves pain and he goes as far as harming himself but it still isn’t enough because he wants to feel the fear that goes with the pain the patients feel in the ER.As the episode progresses there was another situation with a couple that have a kid and they were all on a walk and then the wife carrie was taking a pic of the father and son and she gets hit by a truck and then she goes into a coma and the same man offers to put another transmitter in the living husbands head and they basically shared one body but then that turned out bad when jack started to move on and the wife doesnt take that too well then eventually they transferred it into a monkey and then gave the monkey to the son but eventually the son grew out of having the monkey so they have the monkey in the black museum. Throughout the entire episode there was a girl that was there her name was nish and the man that was telling her the stories was also the an that would go to all the people  and suggest the implants turns out that one of the people rolo the man suggesting the transmitters to was their daughter. I’m not really sure how exactly it correlates to the things we’ve read so far im not sure if im thinking too much about it or maybe i’m not thinking enough but i’m not sure how it relates especially to the bluest eye. until the end i did not see anything that correlated to race until you realize that nish is the man that was electrocuted father also the name of the episode is BLACK mirror

The Bluest Eye , Dick and Jane

The dick and Jane section at the beginning to set up the underlining of the characters. the story of dick and Jane shows how the characters in the bluest eye will be, I feel like putting it at the start of the story creates a big impact in the story once you sit back and realize the dick and Jane stories and once you are able to get a glimpse of the characters in the bluest eye. after reading it through you can see how dick and Jane stories play a big part on how people of color don’t get to see the exact thing they need which is people of color so they try to conform to the things their given but because its not their reality its harder to conform. which is why you’ll pick upon the nuances of Pecola and Claudia’s falsely given reality. seeing that section before the book even starts helps explain how the characters will act because if it wasn’t at the start of the book then while you’re reading it you’ll be confused because you wont have that much of a backstory on why they see things they way they do.
